Terms of sale
Last updated: 4 November 2026
1. Who sells
Alexandre Inukai, sole trader (entrepreneur individuel, EI), trading as Map My Life, 15 chemin de Boutary, 69300 Caluire-et-Cuire, France. SIRET 853 624 039 00014. VAT number FR58853624039. contact@mapmylife.fr.
These terms apply to sales made on mapmylife.fr to consumers. You must accept them to place an order.
2. The products
Map My Life makes posters from a GPS route provided by the customer or chosen from our catalogue of races.
- PDF: the poster in A4 (21 × 29.7 cm), free, with the Map My Life logo and the site’s address at the foot of the page, sent by e-mail as a link valid for 30 days. It is for personal, non-commercial use only: you may print it for yourself and share it on social media, but not sell it.
- Print: a poster on 200 gsm matt, uncoated paper with a smooth natural finish, in 21 × 29.7, 30 × 40 or 50 × 70 cm, portrait, or landscape for a hike.
- Framed: a poster under acrylic glass, in a smooth black, smooth white or solid natural pine frame, in 21 × 29.7 or 30 × 40 cm, portrait, or landscape for a hike.
The preview on screen shows the poster in 30 × 40: the printed file is the same drawing. In 21 × 29.7 and 50 × 70, the same layout has a little more or a little less paper at the top and bottom. In landscape, the map keeps one shape at every size, the extra paper going to the sides or above and below. Colours may vary slightly between a screen and paper.
3. Prices
Poster prices are in euros, all taxes included (French VAT at 20% included). Delivery is added once per order: €4.90 for prints, €7.90 as soon as the order holds a framed print. The total, delivery included, is shown in the basket and on the payment page before you pay.
A promo code is entered in the basket, before payment, and applies to the posters’ price under the conditions announced with it (duration, minimum order amount, number of uses), not to delivery, unless the code says delivery is free. One promo code per order; it can be combined with a gift card, which then pays what remains. It can be neither refunded nor exchanged for cash.
A partner code (that of a club, a shop or a person enrolled in the Map My Life partner programme) is a promo code: it is entered in the basket, or placed there by itself for 7 days after a visit through the partner’s link, and follows the same rules. The partner may earn a commission on the order: it changes nothing in the price paid, and they receive neither the buyer’s name nor their address.
4. Order and payment
The order is binding once the payment has been accepted by Stripe (bank card or another method offered on the payment page) or, when a gift card or a promo code covers it in full, as soon as it is confirmed. A confirmation e-mail is sent from alexandre@mapmylife.fr. We never see or keep card numbers.
5. Production and delivery
The poster is printed on demand by our partner printer, then dispatched within 4 working days. It is delivered within 8 working days of the order in mainland France, Belgium and Luxembourg, and within 15 working days in the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Ireland.
We deliver to mainland France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Ireland. For the French overseas territories or another country, write to us before ordering: a paid order to the overseas territories placed without our prior agreement may be cancelled and refunded in full.
If your edition had a different route. Our catalogue holds the route of one edition of each race. If you tell us when ordering that your edition followed a different route, we look for that route and send it to you by e-mail for approval within 48 working hours. Production starts once you have approved it, and the delivery times above are extended by 3 working days. If we cannot find that route, or if it does not suit you, that poster is cancelled and refunded in full within 14 days, by the same means of payment. The other posters in the same order travel with it, in the same parcel and within the extended delivery times above; if it is cancelled, they leave without waiting for it.
If the parcel arrives damaged, write to us with a photo; if it does not arrive, write to us: either way, we reprint and resend it free of charge.
6. Gift card
The gift card is paid for online, through Stripe, from €20 to €500. Its code and a card to print are sent by e-mail as soon as it is paid for.
- It can be spent on any poster (print or framed), delivery included, in one go or over several orders. Whatever is not spent stays on the code; if the order costs more, the difference is paid by bank card.
- It is valid for one year from purchase; the expiry date is printed on the card. Any balance unused by that date is lost. It cannot be exchanged for cash, except in the event of withdrawal.
- The code is worth money: keep it as you would cash. If it is lost or stolen, write to us: as long as it has not been used, we cancel it and send a new one to the buyer.
Withdrawal. The gift card is not a personalised item: the buyer has 14 days from purchase to withdraw, without giving a reason, as long as the card has not been used. Just write to contact@mapmylife.fr, for example using the form below. The refund is made within 14 days, by the same means of payment.
To Alexandre Inukai (Map My Life), 15 chemin de Boutary, 69300 Caluire-et-Cuire, France, contact@mapmylife.fr: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following goods: gift card no. … — Ordered on … — Name of consumer: … — Address of consumer: … — Signature of consumer (only if this form is notified on paper) — Date: …
7. No right of withdrawal for posters
Each poster is made from the route, title and text chosen by the customer. It is a personalised item: the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply (Article L221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code).
8. Legal guarantees
Every poster is covered by the legal guarantee of conformity (Articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) and by the guarantee against hidden defects (Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code). Map My Life offers no commercial guarantee.
The consumer has two years from delivery of the goods to obtain the application of the legal guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. During this period, the consumer need only establish the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date on which it appeared.
Where the contract of sale of the goods provides for the continuous supply of digital content or a digital service for a period of more than two years, the legal guarantee applies to that digital content or digital service throughout the planned period of supply. During this period, the consumer need only establish the existence of the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or digital service, not the date on which it appeared.
The legal guarantee of conformity obliges the trader, where applicable, to provide all the updates needed to keep the goods in conformity.
The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the goods repaired or replaced within thirty days of the request, free of charge and without major inconvenience to them.
If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the initial guarantee.
If the consumer asks for the goods to be repaired but the seller imposes their replacement, the legal guarantee of conformity is renewed for a period of two years from the date on which the goods are replaced.
The consumer may obtain a reduction of the purchase price while keeping the goods, or end the contract and be refunded in full on returning the goods, if:
1° The trader refuses to repair or replace the goods;
2° The goods are repaired or replaced after a period of thirty days;
3° The repair or replacement of the goods causes the consumer major inconvenience, in particular where the consumer definitively bears the costs of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the costs of installing the repaired or replacement goods;
4° The lack of conformity of the goods persists despite the seller’s unsuccessful attempt to bring them into conformity.
The consumer is also entitled to a reduction of the price of the goods or to termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. The consumer is then not required to ask for the goods to be repaired or replaced first.
The consumer is not entitled to termination of the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any period during which the goods are out of use for repair or replacement suspends the remaining period of the guarantee until the goods are delivered back in working order.
The rights mentioned above result from the application of Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code (code de la consommation).
A seller who in bad faith obstructs the application of the legal guarantee of conformity is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the French Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code (code civil), for two years from the discovery of the defect. This guarantee entitles the consumer to a price reduction if the goods are kept, or to a full refund on return of the goods.

11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. The customer keeps the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence.
These terms are a translation of the French conditions générales de vente. If the two versions differ, the French version prevails; any doubt about the meaning of a term is resolved in the consumer’s favour (Article L211-1 of the French Consumer Code).
